Walking on the beach…
The theme is borrowed; the words are mine!
--
Walking on the beach, in gaiety and glee
I turn around, and what do I see?
Two sets of footprints, mine and His
These trails in the sand, never amiss!
Carefree and happy, I’m secure and smiling
Ever by my side, He’s always walking
Then the tide changes, ’tis gloomy and perilous
The future suddenly, looks dark and ominous
It’s only a phase, yet so disturbing
Hanging by a thread, only just managing
Hoping and hoping, that He’s still supporting
Walking on the beach, in melancholy
I turn around, and what do I see?
Only one set of footprints, how’s that I quiz?
Just one trail behind me; something’s amiss!
Wailing and moaning, I make a plea
O Lord of the Lords, where are thee?
Why did you leave me, when I needed you the most?
Why did you disappear, so like a ghost?
“Have faith, my child”, He said to me
Those footprints are mine, not yours, you see
I’m carrying you in my arms, till you’re trouble free!
